About Me
After a number of interesting and varied jobs through the 1990's, from Barman to Bingocaller, Delivery Driver and Stock Controller I eventually decided to use my numeracy and analytical abilities undertaking to complete the ACCA Accountancy qualification.
I joined a specialist audit company in March 2000 and took my first exams that year, completing my 15th and final exam in December 2003, becoming a member of ACCA in April 2004. During this period I also achieved my degree in Applied Accounting. Through this company I gained interesting and varied experience from specialist audit to operational / Internal audit and IT systems implementation (PRINCE2 Practioner), working with all levels from clerical staff to reporting for the Board members of a FTSE250 Plc.
With a commitment to excellence I Became a Director of that company in early 2005, taking responsibility for the general financial management and key reporting and more recently implemented a new employee share option scheme.
My contribution to that company has helped them to achieve a 170% increase in sales and a 450% boost to pre-tax profits over 7 years and they are still now growing strongly. However at the start of 2007 I decided it was time for a short break before facing a new challenge. I have retained that company as my first client, continuing to prepare the management accounts and I am now working to build a new client base of my own.
